What is Success?

Adam Fox • 6 August 2021

Growing up, we are hardwired to believe that success is always measured in monetary terms. 💰

You need to be a millionaire to be considered successful. 💷 💷 💷

You need to drive a fast car to be successful. 🏎

You need at least 6 bedrooms and a swimming pool in your house to be successful. 🏰 🏊‍♀️

And so on and so on……. 🙄

But how many of the ‘successful’ people that have all of these things are genuinely happy? 🤔

I’d bet very few. 🤦‍♂️

And why aren’t they happy? 🤷

Because nothing is ever enough. They hit one milestone, and then move the goalposts in order to achieve more. 🥅

So if they’re not genuinely happy underneath the ‘social media façade’ that they put on, can they really be considered successful? 🤑

Now I’m not for one minute saying don’t be ambitious and don’t strive to achieve dreams and goals in your life. 🏆 🥇

But work out WHY, you want to achieve certain goals. 🤔

If you have a powerful WHY, chances are when you achieve your goal it will bring you happiness. 😃

Without a powerful WHY, you are more likely trying to achieve something to prove a point to somebody else, so the sense of genuine achievement and the happiness you expect to gain will never come. 🙄

I used to chase money, and I did it under the guise that I was doing it to make my family happy. But in reality, I was pushing them away because they wanted me 👨‍👩‍👧‍👧 ….. Not the bank balance I was working so hard to try and achieve. 🤑

I didn’t know my WHY! 🤷‍♂️

Now I do, I am still ‘successful’ and financially I do well for my family, however, the difference is, I am doing it in a way that allows me to be around more so they aren’t suffering in the process. 🥰

Will it take longer, yes, but my family and I are all going to be happy in the process meaning we don’t have to wait a years before we can enjoy our lives together. 📅

What is your point Adam 🥱 😴 ……

Dreams and goals are important, absolutely they are! But when you are defining your goals and dreams, make sure you know your WHY. 🤔

Dig deep, I mean REALLY DEEP! 🕳

Work out what you are building your business for and make sure you aren’t jeopardising your WHY in the process of achieving your dreams! 🌟 ✨

I still have dreams and goals that I am working towards, but now I know my WHY, and I have adapted how I am going to achieve them, I consider myself to be successful already! 🏆

Yes I am working towards more, but I am happy, my family are happy, we are enjoying the journey together. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👧

Figure out your WHY, and you can become instantly successful WHILE you build the future you want to build. 🤔

Wow, a bit of a deep business bite today!

If you’d like help digging deep and figuring out your WHY. 🤷🏻‍♂️
